About Asfi Info Vignette Services

About our service

Our Mission

Asfi Info Vignette Services was established to provide clear, accurate, and up-to-date information about the Austrian motorway vignette system to drivers based in Belgium and across Europe. Our mission is to eliminate confusion and reduce the risk of unintentional violations by ensuring that every driver has access to straightforward, reliable guidance.

The Austrian vignette system, while relatively straightforward once understood, presents genuine challenges for first-time visitors. The existence of multiple vignette types, special-toll roads that require additional payment, and specific placement rules for physical stickers all create potential for misunderstanding. We aim to address each of these areas comprehensively.

What We Do

We research and compile information from official Austrian sources, including ASFINAG publications, Austrian government transport communications, and established motoring organisations. We translate and contextualise this information for an international audience, with particular attention to the needs of Belgian drivers who may be unfamiliar with the Austrian road toll system.

Our content covers the full lifecycle of vignette use: understanding the different types available, selecting the appropriate option for your journey, purchasing through legitimate channels, correctly applying or activating the vignette, and understanding the consequences of non-compliance. We also maintain information about special-toll roads, vehicle category rules, and the appeals process for fines.

Independence Statement

Asfi Info Vignette Services is an independent information resource. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any commercial relationship with ASFINAG, the Austrian government, or any vignette reseller. We do not sell vignettes or earn commission from vignette sales.

Our goal is purely informational: to help drivers understand the system and comply with Austrian law. We do not provide legal advice, and the information on this site should not be treated as a substitute for official ASFINAG guidance or legal counsel.

"Independent information is the foundation of informed travel. We believe every driver deserves access to clear, unbiased guidance about road regulations in the countries they visit."
